Today I did something I'd never done in my life before: having a Sunday service music band practice (I play drum set) while attending a business conference meeting at the same time using mobile phone and iPad. I wasn't intentionally do that, but since neither of the event could be reschedule so I just did my best to participate both.
What was the result? Disastrous.
I definitely underestimate the among of focus I need to play drumset. Even though I already told our song leader that I had this crazy thing going on, and thus might need to walk out from the drumset from time to time in order to provide feedback during, I was still trying to keep playing drumset while listening to other meeting participant present their material. But I ended up NOT hearing 70% of what people on the phone conference talked about because the music and drumming sound was just too loud.
However, I discovered one thing that really amused me: Lync 2013 on iPad Air 2 is super awesome.
I said that because while I prepared my Galaxy Nexus to dial in to the Lync audio conference with my TMobile voice only plan, the audio quality was simply terrible. However, using my iPad Air 2 with Lync 2013, I can clearly hear everyone's conversation. In fact, at the end of the phone conference, I made some comment, and then I forgot to turn on the mic, and my boss pointed out that there's some music clearly playing, and so I instantly muted my mic. And I thought, those music where live piano and keyboard playing quite far away, so why was he complained. The I started to realize that maybe it's because iPad Air 2 has too good a mic, and thus picked up the far away music clearly.
Next time I should try attending daily meet up with Lync 2013.
