Last night I started hearing another audio book about lies in American History. the author is a Harvard PhD, and he did research on history, and HOW HISTORY WAS BEING TAUGHT and found a lot of lies (lies mainly by the one in power, aka European people).
The main thing is not just hearing the ugly past, but the technique of twisting history. I can see the same shit technique used in Japan, in China, in Russian in all around the way.
So I highly recommend it, mostly as a way to learn more tools to exam and question history, and prevent ourselves from being screwed up by lies. Also see how we are being manipulated, and how to avoid it.
It has the same kind of power as reading Pack Yeung's "Ugly Chinese". Don't just read the surface. Read the message behind.
The book is called "Rethinking our past" by Loewen, James
I was getting a bit tired on just listening to tech podcast, and think I need something on the social science side ... history, economy ,..... to balance my diet.
(9:28:59 AM) Daniel Kwan: That and also now that I start reading business week I find social science more interesting.
