So that is Xoom

I finally got a chance to play Motorola's Xoom Honeycomb tablet at BestBuy.

my first impression: it's heavy, which is definitely not a good thing. There was an iPad 2 10 steps away from the Xoom, and after I lifted the iPad 2, it's very obvious that iPad 2 is lighter. Bad, bad first impression.

To be fair, the user interface of Xoom is very rock solid. Everything runs super smooth. Even the animation on Angry Birds is smoother than on my HTC Desire. Compare with the gingerbread hack tablet os, honeycomb is way better.

The biggest problem, though, is still the app support and price. iPad 2 equally fast, but lighter, better battery life, have shit tons of apps specifically for iPad, and the final nail: iPad 2 actually is cheaper.

I am looking forward to see the cheaper lighter version from HTC, while Xoom continue being death on arrival.
