Everyone of us was once a fans for something. The passion, obsession and dedication on something who once love usually turned into footprints that amazing ourselves years later.
Yet, being a fan-boy doesn't necessary ended as one aged. There are grown up who still passion at what they loved when they were young. Some even turned that passion into a career. There are also those who awaken from fandom, late looking back and treated it as merely a "young and innocent experience".
When there's strong emotion, there's drama; when there's drama, there's audience; when there's audiences, there will be people to try to commoditize it. And that's why I was a bit surprise that there's no TV show or podcast dedicated to human interest story related to fanboys. Sure there are fanboy shows about geek culture like comics fanboy, consumer electronic fanboy. But how about fan of non geeky subjects, such as fashion fanboy/girl, pop-artist fanboy/girl, vegas fanboy, fetish fanboy, reglion fanboy. And also when there's fanboys, there's also ex-fanboys, and even anti-fanboys.
This subject can be approach in academic way, sensational way, yellow-journalistic way, or satire way. But it's pretty obvious that the subject is worthy to be turned into some marketable content.
